He said No to women in all respects (as priests, pre-marital sex, abortion..), No to priests marrying, No to homosexuals, No to birth control, and even No to rock music. He's a strict doctrinationist - a step backwards. Most Catholics already disagree with Orthodox Catholic teachings on these issues. I'm wondering if this isn't going to cause the Catholic Church to splinter. I'm also wondering how he will treat the continuing attrocities being committed by priests sexually abusing children. |
