Why on earth would any self respecting atheist go to an "atheist church" and listen to a "atheist minister"?
Here's an idea, appoint deacons too, and start taking a collection each week. Don't forget the sing songs and clap your hands. Church is for pretentious sheep. An atheist church is a hypocrisy. |

So that atheists can have someone to legally perform atheist wedding ceremonies. That is the main reason that we ordain. We do not have weekly meetings. In fact, we do not have any meetings at all! Mostly we exist to demystify the entire ordination process. If an atheist can be a minister, how high and mighty does a christian minister seem? That is why we ordain for free. The more people that hold "clergy status" the better! The point is that anyone can do it, and to think that someone has to be pious in order to do so is a false presumption. It's a practical as well as satirical "church." |
