Why do people DO that?!?!
Poor kid was hurting, weak, and instead they prayed... should I marvel at their faith? The callousness? Their parsimony?

I think that ignorant is the term, rather than sick, and I mean that literally: to be ignorant is to persistently ignore facts. If they looked around them with some degree of attempting to discern the truth, they'd realise that the world doesn't work that way. |

Pretend believers are socio-political, real believers are fanatical doers.
That same belief which compells some people to suicide bomb is the same belief which compells people dig irrigation ditches is starving third world countries. Faith brings out the best and worst in people, it's nothing but a magic feather enabling people to do what ever the hell it is that they really wanna do anyway. |
